One From The Archives: Craig Roberts
I caught up with Submarine star and all round rising talent Craig Roberts earlier this year for our May issue. The Welsh native told me all about his time working with The IT Crowd’s Richard Ayoade, starring on children’s TV shows, his up coming film roles and his obsession with a certain Eminem. Check out the full interview here.
Attention All Holloway Roaders
This hole is situated in between the station and the Sainsbury’s Local and is the reason why I have grazed knees this morning after tripping over it on my way to catch Random Impulse play at Nambucca last night. Great set, great night but could have done without the bleeding knees to go with it so if anyone from Holloway Road council is reading this… sort it out yeh?!
The Wildfox SS12 Collection…
Why haven’t more people heard of this?
This is my favourite Christmas song and yet no one has ever heard of it. So if you don’t know it already, here it is in all its festive glory… HERE
Still Lusting After
These bad boys. The brain child of Nike & Liberty who teamed up earlier this year to launch a new collection of trainers and hi-tops. I’m not sure why I haven’t invested in them yet, maybe the £70 price tag is putting me off a bit, or perhaps it’s the fact I haven’t worn trainers since I was 14? Either way my birthday’s coming up in January and I think I’ll finally be sticking these on the ‘wish’ list.
One From The Archives: Vicky McClure
Hands up who saw the first episode of This is England ’88 last night? I certainly did and I was glad to see that the gang and their director Shane Meadows were back to their gritty, Northern best. About a year ago now I met and interviewed This is England actress Vicky McClure. At the time the last episode of This is England ’86 had just aired and in between poses for the camera, discussing make-up tips and drinking tea we chatting about what first attracted her to the role of Lol, becoming a muse for Plan B and how she prepared for the brutal scenes which saw her character murder her Dad who had sexually abused her as a child.
Read the whole interview here, it starts on page 61.

Hanging Out In Spain With Renault
This week myself and WJ editor Lu headed to sunny Spain for a 2 day break with our friends over at Renault for the launch of their New Twingo.
For the launch Renault asked four artists that they deemed to have ‘twinguesque’ genes to express their view of the world by making taking part in their Cabinet of Curiosities challenge. Taking part in the challenge were Girls Aloud singer, Nicola Roberts, chef Davide Scabin, German Designer Nils Holger Moormann and French fashion designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac who were each asked to make-over the interior of New Twingo in a way that expressed themselves, their personalities and their everyday lives.
During the trip we got the chance to hang out with Nicola Roberts, hear about what inspired her design (which was made up of pieces from her Dainty Doll make up range, pearl and gold necklaces, a Chanel jacket, a music mix board, coffee machine, copies of her album, cut outs from her favourite fashion shoots and a rather impressive Swarovski studded shoe), her favourite places in London and also got the chance to check her out live (she’s surprisingly good).
Check out some of the pictures of Nicola’s design and the trip below and keep an eye out on whosjack.org for more coverage.
From The Archives: Tinie Tempah
Before the number 1′s, the collaborations and the fan fare I interviewed Tinie Tempah for our June 2012 issue. It was shortly before the release of his hit song (and in my humble opinion still his best) Pass Out. We drank tea, played with the photographers dog and chatted about growing up in London, fulfilling dreams, celebrities he’d like to share tents with and finally making the big time.
Check out the interview in full and to see the rest of the shoot head here.
